Minister of Home Affairs Malusi Gigaba said
they have emphasized in the past the importance of ensuring that we 16
year-olds need to apply for their smart ID cards.
“We need to get parents to ensure that their
children are registered for birth within the first 30 days of the birth of the
children and to ensure that South Africans protect and safe guard their
citizenship, this is part of that effort by extending our footprints and
ensuring that as many people as possible can have access to the offices of Home
Affairs.” Gigaba added.
