Police investigates hijacking incident in Eikenhof

A shoot-out between police and hijackers resulted in the death of one person and one was left injured in Eikenhof, Johannesburg. 

Police Spokesperson Lungelo Dlamini said three people hijacked an Isuzu vehicle at gunpoint. They later abandoned the van after they experienced problems with it. 

Dlaminii added that Police are investigating two cases of hijacking, attempted murder and inquest.

“This follows an incident of hijacking in Eikenhof where one of the suspects was shot dead and one arrested. We also recovered the revolver and as well as toy gun.” Dlamini added.
