A 43-year-old police woman from the Table View police service was arrested by Kraaifontein members following a case of defeating the ends of justice, obstructing members on duty to perform their duties and assisting a suspect to escape during arrest.

The police woman was arrested at table view and is due to appear in Kuilsriver Magistrate’s Court today.

“It is alleged that on Saturday 26th of September at about 7:30 police were busy with the arrest at Carmen Street, Scottsdenne for possession of the unlicensed firearm. While they were busy a police female captain from Table View SAPS arrived with her private vehicle accompanied by an unknown male civilian clothes.” Police Captain FC Van Wyk said.

The police woman then demanded that the suspect be set free. She pulled the suspect free and told him to run after the members refused to let him go. The police located the firearm and discovered that it had been reported as stolen last month in Manenberg. Van Wyk said.
