On Sunday night, Netcare 911 paramedics were alerted of an accident on the N2 North just before the Ballito off ramp.

Reports from the scene are that a female had tried to cross the M2 when she was hit by a vehicle that was hurtling along the highway.

911 Netcare spokesperson Chris Botha reported that paramedics arrived at the scene and found the patient lying on the roadway with extensive injuries.

“It appears from the damage of the vehicle that it was a high impact collision, her body crumpled the front and bonnet of the vehicle and hit the wind-shield with such force that it was totally shattered.”  Botha said.

Tragically, the lady died on impact due to the extensive injuries that she sustained.
