The Democratic Alliance has called on the Hawks to investigate allegations of corruption made against mobile operator MTN.
MTN’s CEO Phuthuma Nhleko and a small group of senior employees have been accused of engaging in corrupt acts in order to win a mobile operating license in Iran.
American mobile network Turkcell has now filed a 30-point-two-billion-Rands lawsuit against MTN.
The DA’s David Maynier said that the South African Police and the Hawks need to investigate the claims.
Maynier added that who ever found guilty must be before the court of law.
