Celebrations have been held across the world today for Former President Nelson Mandela’s 95th birthday.

Many young and old wished Madiba a happy birthday and good health.

Nelson Mandela is being treated at the Pretoria Medi Clinic Heart Hospital for a recurring lung infection.

Anglican Archbishop of Cape Town Thabo Makgoba said South Africans must continue to pray for Mandela and may the doctors continue to do the good work they have been doing.

Makgoba was part of the human chain which ran from Rondebosch Common to Gugulethu for 67 minutes for Mandela.

Bishop Makgoba said this human chain was to show that unity is possible in South Africa.
