Corruption charges laid against President Zuma and Minister Masutha

Accountability Now has today laid corruption charges against President Jacob Zuma and Justice Minister Michael Masutha.

This arises out of a settlement agreement that President and Minister entered into with the former National Director of Public Prosecutions Mxolisi Nxasana.

Accountability Now’s Advocate Paul Hoffman said the settlement agreement makes it clear that there was no reason to relieve Nxasana of his constitutional determined ten-year period of office and that he has in fact been paid balance of his term of office simply to not work.

“This amounts to a corrupt activity or defeating the end of justice and the matter is now in the hands of the police, the Hawks and in due course the National Prosecuting Authority,” Hoffman added.
