SANCO condemns torching of schools and clinic in the North West

South African National Civic Organisation in the North West province on Thursday, condemned the destruction of public properties following the torching of the three schools and a clinic in Kopela near Delarayville.


Paul Sebegoe reported that communities should not allow anarchists and criminal elements to hijack their genuine service delivery concerns and misdirect them towards criminality, disruption of schooling and destruction of public infrastructure.

Valuable information including learner results, four photo-copying machines and two printers were damaged and schools records lost in the fire.


Ten classrooms and administration block, two school libraries, teacher’s staffrooms and a school feeding scheme kitchen were reportedly burnt to the ground.
