The Western Cape Government
through the Department of Community Safety will make R50 000 available to anyone who has information that will help arrest and successfully convict those who
are involved in the killing of police in the Western Cape.
Last year, 645 police officers
were attacked in the province.
“Looking at the crime stats
that were released last week, is that most police officers that died violently
in the country it happened in the Western Cape [sic]. And as a government we
cannot stand by to see the police attacks on men and women continue.” Western
Cape Minister of Community Safety Dan Plato said.
