A Human Rights Commission researcher today said that even though majority of Khayelitsha residents living in Makhaza have access to toilets crime prevents them from using them.
This comes after the Human Rights Commission officials visited the area on Tuesday.
The study found that many still used the bucket system especially at night.
Statistics showed 98 percent have access to basic water and sanitation.
Researcher Cameron Jacobs said that people do not use these facilities at night.
