IMATU negotiating for better wage offer from SALGA

Lusanda Bill
02 July 2015

The Independent Municipal and Allied Trade Union heads into a conciliation meeting in Durban today to continue wage negotiations.

IMATU hopes to negotiate a wage that matches the rising cost of other daily needs.

Research and Policy Analyst Anja Muller-Deibicht said we are looking at the employer SALGA to make substantial grounds in terms of its offers.

Deibicht said we have a mandate from our members to make sure that the wage increase is in line with inflation increases and the transport, food and petrol price increases.
