The Group CEO of PRASA, Mr Lucky Montana, convened a meeting with the taxi industry in a bid to resolve the transport problems facing commuters in Mamelodi, east of Pretoria.

The meeting’s intention was to also bring stability in the area, stop the violence and ensure that Autopax continues to provide bus services to the community while the Gauteng Provincial Government is seeking to find a long term solution to address the transport needs of the affected community.

PRASA spokesperson Moffet Mofokeng said I can confirm that Mr Montana has been meeting with the leadership of the taxi industry, both locally and also in the province to try and find a resolution to this issue.

“So far we have had a couple of meetings, one meeting took place on Friday, and we are continuing those consultations today, so that stability is found.” Mofokeng said.

Mofokeng added that our first priority is to stop the violence and to get the buses to continue their service to the people.
