The Western Cape police commissioner Arno Lamoer would like liquor producers and distributors to take a stand against illegal outlets.
This morning Lamoer supervised the destruction of 20 000 litres of confiscated alcohol.
Today’s destructions are only a small percentage of the thousands of litres seized last year.
Officers raided various illegal liquor outlets across the Western Cape.
Lamoer challenged producers and distributors of liquor to play their part in preventing illegal alcohol sales.
Today’s destruction comes days after the announcement of the Western Cape’s new liquor board which will be in charge of enforcing the new liquor act on the 1st of April.
