The Western Cape Education Department on Monday said it was investigating a number of allegations brought against a Nyanga school principal.
Learners at Nelson Mandela High School held a protest march calling for the removal of their headmaster on Monday.
They accused him of making them pay money, even though the school was a no-fee institution.
The learners’ pelted police with stones as they were refusing to attend classes.
The department's Bronagh Casey said that learners also complained about paying non-refundable fees for textbooks.
