Western Cape government cuts Cape Town Film festival funds

The Cape Film Commission on Thursday said that the budgetary constraints will affect their support of 2012 film festivals.

The
Western Cape government is to assign R2 million to the commission for the 2012 financial year.

The commission was given R4,8million budget in 201.

The commission is responsible for marketing and promoting the local film industry for
Cape Town
and the provincial government.

Economic Development MEC Alan Winde said that the commission was informed of budget cuts.

Winde said that there are questions that both the city and government will be raising about the matter when a meeting is held.
