Western Cape Social workers` workload is much higher

The Cape Town Child Welfare today said the burnout level among social workers is rising.

The organization specializes in helping abused and neglected children.

Chief Executive Officer Niresh Ramklaas estimated that the Western Cape Social Workers’ work load was two times higher than the national standard.

Ramklaas also said many social workers were not coping.
