Western Cape supplementary exams are running smoothly

The Western Cape education department confirmed that everything is running smoothly for the matric supplementary exams.

The test started last month and about 6500 learners are writing.

The province has been providing free tuition through the department’s telemetric system.

The departments Paddy Atwell said they are hoping the supplementary exam result will see more candidates pass matric with better results.

He added they are looking to improve the 2011 matric pass rate even further.

Atwell added that the Western Cape had the highest matric pass rate in the country with 82, 9 percent.
