The Congress of the People is alarmed by the lack of education and skill training that youth in South Africa receive.

Due to the lack of schooling and high levels of unemployment among youth, recently reported on by Stats South Africa, COPE believes that the government is neglecting the youth.

COPE spokesperson Dennis Bloem said it is very clear that the government has abandoned our youth and it’s a very serious and dangerous thing because this thing will explode in the face of everybody in the country.

“We are saying that after the release of the Statistics, we are calling upon the president to stop with empty promises and start to do something in creating jobs for our youth. If he is not doing that he will pay dearly and the country will pay dearly for the unemployment of youth,” Bloem added.
