Ramaphosa responds to possible charges for Marikana

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa said he has noted plans in the political circles to lay charges against him regarding the Farlam Commission of Inquiry Report.

This as the Economic Freedom Fighters has stated that it will today ask police to investigate the deputy president, the than police minister Nathi Mthethwa and Lonmin bosses.

The report found that Deputy President Ramaphosa had no part to play in the shooting dead of 34 striking miners almost three years ago.

Spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said in this regard we wish to state that in respect of the findings of the Farlam Commission related to Deputy President Ramaphosa personally, the Commission’s findings are clear.

He added that accordingly, Deputy President Ramaphosa has nothing further to add.
