Three police officials were injured this morning in Bellville when their vehicle slammed into an uncovered manhole in Durban Road.
ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak says paramedics responded to the scene and found a double cab police vehicle that crashed into a curb next to the side of the road.
“The police officials explained to paramedics on the scene that they were busy with routine patrol when the vehicle crashed into the manhole and apparently lost control. The vehicle then crashed into a nearby curb next to the road.
“Paramedics treated three of the police officials on the scene for minor injuries. All of them were transported per ambulance to Louis Leipoldt Medi Clinic for further medical management,” said Vermaak.
The driver of the vehicle was also assessed on the scene.
It is not clear why the manhole was uncovered. The incident will be investigated by the police
