Five people have been arrested when they were found with forty bags of dagga in their possession in a roadblock on the N1 in Leeu Gamka.
Police spokesperson Captain Bernadine Steyn says a white Toyota Quantum minibus that was travelling in the direction of Cape Town was pulled over during the roadblock.
“The vehicle was searched during which 40 bags of dagga was found.
“The five occupants, a male and four females aged between thirty six and fifty two and 52 years-old from Khayelitsha, were arrested,” said Steyn.
Steyn added that the value of the dagga is value at R340 000 and the suspects will appear in the Prins Albert Magistrates’ Court on today.
