President Jacob Zuma has described the sudden death of Deputy Health Minister Molefi Sefularo as a monumental loss for the nation and the progressive movement as a whole.
Sefularo, a former health MEC died in a car accident in Pretoria West yesterday.
Zuma says Sefularo, who was alone in the car, was a highly skilled and eloquent leader who provided sound leadership, especially in the field of HIV and Aids treatment and prevention.
Sending his deepest condolences to Sefularo’s family, Zuma described him as one of the country’s sharpest minds.
Meanwhile the African National Congress, which Sefularo served in its executive committe, several unions, including Cosatu as well opposition parties have also paid tribute to Sefularo and expressed shock at his untimely death.
Western Cape Health MEC Theuns Botha expressed his respect for the exceptional experience and managerial skills that Sefularo had displayed.
