The South African Transport and Allied Workers’ Union today warned its members not to commit any crimes.

This comes after four members of Satawu were arrested last week in connection with the torching of Metrorail trains.

Last week several coaches were set alight in parts of Johannesburg following a week-long Metrorail strike.

Satawu spokesperson Zenzo Mahlangu said the union does not support acts of vandalism.

On Friday, Metrorail was granted a court interdict declaring the strike illegal.

All workers were ordered to return to work today.
