Two men and a woman were killed in a collision between a taxi and a Toyota Avanza on Spine Road, Khayelitsha yesterday.

ER24 spokeswoman, Chitra Bodasing said when ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found a man and woman trapped in the Toyota Avanza.

“They were assessed. Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could do for them. They were declared dead. Metro Rescue and Fire and Rescue Services extricated them from the vehicle. Another man, believed to have been ejected from the taxi, was also declared dead.
Two children believed to be aged between three and nine year’s old sustained serious injuries.” Bodasing said.

Bodasing added that two other men also sustained moderate injuries. They were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.

The exact details surrounding the cause of the incident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
