Guy Fawkes Safety

Angelique Jordaan, the principle communications officer at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, shared some safety tips in regards with Guy Fawkes.
Jordaan said “Within the seven designated areas identified by the City of Cape Town for the discharge of fireworks keep behind a protective barrier and away from anything that could catch fire.
It is also important to avoid wearing loose clothing or flowing clothes as it could catch fire.
Always keep an eye on children, keep firework out of their reach and never allow them to handle matches, lighters or fireworks.
Never allow them to pick up pieces of fireworks as it still may be ignited and could explode at any time.”
