Winnie Madikizela-Mandela's nephew is expected to appear in the Orlando Magistrate's Court today on a charge of theft after the R83 000 in cash she got for her birthday went missing.

Thirty-year-old Zolile Madikizela was arrested last week after Colin Mtileni, who works at the Madikizela-Mandela household in the Soweto suburb, opened a case against him.

He appeared in court briefly and was not granted bail.

It was reported that the struggle stalwart discovered the money was missing when she took her bag out of her wardrobe to get bread money.
