Pedestrian killed in hit and run collision

A pedestrian, believed to be in his forties, was killed this morning on the Umlaas Bridge at the N3 in KwaZulu Natal.

ER24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said in a statement shortly after 6am paramedics from ER24 arrived on the scene where they found the man’s body lying in the road.

He sustained multiple fatal injuries and there was nothing that paramedics could do for him.

He was later declared dead on the scene.

The vehicle that collided with the man was not found on the scene.

The incident was handed over to the local SAPS that attended the scene for further investigation.
