Panayiotou trail to continue

The much-anticipated trial of the men accused of the murder of school teacher Jayde Panayiotou will get underway in the Port Elizabeth High Court this week.

Her husband Christopher Panayiotou and two co-accused, Sinethemba Nenembe and Zolani Sibeko, face a raft of charges including conspiracy to commit murder.

Sizwezakhe Vumazonke, the man alleged to have pulled the trigger, died in a Port Elizabeth hospital last month.

Prosecutor Marius Stander and Panayiotou's lawyers have indicated they are ready, but it remains unclear whether the State has furnished the lawyer for his co-accused with the necessary documents needed for the matter to proceed.
