Police are searching for the parents of a baby girl who was dumped on the R44 near the look out point in Gordons Bay.
ER24 paramedics were called to a picnic site by local fisherman yesterday.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and were taken by the fisherman to where they had found the baby.
The new born baby girl was found wrapped in a bathroom towel, under some bushes.
However there was nothing paramedics could do for the baby as it had died a few hours earlier.
Police spokesperson Nico Beukes said an inquest docket had been opened, but a charge of murder could be added.
Meanwhile a 30 year-old man man was killed after been knocked down by a scooter at the corners of Blouberg and Gie road in Tableview yesterday afternoon.
When paramedics arrived they found the man lying on the side of the road and unresponsive.
He had sustained possible head injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.
The driver of the scooter sustained no injuries.
The death around the patient is sketchy but is believed that the scooter hit the patient, causing the man to fall back wards and hit his head on the pavement.
However police have confirmed they are investigating the incident.
