A 19 year old suspect has been arrested for the murder of his brother.

Twelve year old Masibulele Zwakala’s body was found lying face down on the bed on his home in Delft on Friday morning.

His 48 year old father found the body in a backyard shark.

Police spokesperson Captain Joe Wilson says a rope was found hanging from the roof as if the deceased committed suicide, however Wilson says they immediately suspected foul play.

“It was determined that the deceased was last seen alive in the presence of the suspect, the previous night at 9pm.

We then called in a pathologist, who provisionally confirmed that the boy died of strangulation,” said Wilson.

Police immediately launched an intensified investigation by questioning people in the near vicinity.

“We arrested the suspect in Wynberg,” Wilson said.
The suspect will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday on murder charges.

Wilson urges anyone who can shed more light on the incident is requested to contact the investigating officer, Detective Constable Paul Cillier at Delft SAPS on 021 954 9000 or 082 411 3087.
