Seven people burnt beyond recognition

Christiana Police are investigating a case of Culpable Homicide after seven people burned beyond recognition due to a head on collision of two vehicles on Saturday afternoon.

The accident took place on the N12 road between Christiana and Warrenton.

Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said it is alleged that the two vehicles collided after one of them, a grey Volkswagen Jetta with five occupants was travelling from Warrenton to Christiana, and allegedly had a tyre burst and swerved to the oncoming traffic when it collided head on with white Toyota bakkie that had two occupants travelling to the direction of Warrenton.

Ngubane further said at impact both vehicles burst into flames, and all seven occupants were burnt beyond recognition. 

He added that the police will continue with the investigation into the incident.
