Yesterday a man was killed and two others injured on the N9 near the N12 split in George.

Emergency services arrived on the scene and found a vehicle down a small embankment with a motorcycle lying a few metres away.

On assessment, paramedics discovered the lifeless body of a man lying in front of the vehicle.

The passenger from the vehicle and the driver of the motorbike were also found on the scene. The woman was found to have sustained critical injuries while the man had sustained only moderate injuries.

Paramedics treated both and they were transported to hospital for further medical assistance.

It is believed that the driver of the vehicle lost control, causing it to roll off the road. The driver of the motorbike apparently also lost control of his vehicle due to the debris caused by the rolling vehicle
