6 arrested in connection with N2 robberies

Cape Town police over the weekend arrested six suspects in connection robberies on the N2. 

The suspects aged between 23 and 36-years-old allegedly placed concrete blocks on the N2 which resulted in motorist stopping which then the suspects would rob them. 

Captain Andre Traut said an investigation into this matter is underway. 

Traut said on Friday members of border policing received information of suspect that was held by community members in Gugulethu.

“The suspect was arrested as this arrest led to five other suspects linked to these robberies being arrested Traut added.
