The Portfolio Committee on Police said mob justice is unacceptable and cannot be tolerated.

This is after residents in Reiger Park took the law into their own hands when they resorted to mob justice attack on a person suspected of being responsible for the disappearance of a three-year-old boy.

Committee Chairperson Francois Beukman said police need to speed up in investigating and resolving this crime.

Beukman added that the committee recognizes the seriousness of the matter and the residents should not take the law into their own hands, the police are there to investigate such cases and they should be allowed to their job.
