A four-year-old girl was killed and seven adults injured when two vehicles collided on the N11 in Ingogo, Newcastle early this morning.

ER24 Spokesperson Luyanda Majija said when paramedics arrived at the scene they found that the young girl had been ejected and killed.

Majija said the vehicle she was travelling in lay on its roof and evidence on scene suggests that it overturned several times, ejecting her in the process. Her parents sustained moderate injuries in the collision.

She added that the patients were transported to various nearby hospitals for the relevant medical treatment.

The police are investigating the exact cause of the incident.

In another incident an elderly woman was killed in a head-on collision on Nirvana Drive in Lenasia, Johannesburg South this morning.

Majija said paramedics arrived on scene to find that the woman had already succumbed to her multiple injuries. There were four people injured in the collision and they sustained minior injuries.

Majija said the patients were attended to and transported to various hospitals in the area.
