The Western Cape MEC of Community Safety Dan Plato has welcomed the safety interventions introduced by police to on the N2.

This follows the arrest over the weekend of six suspects in connection with the recent robberies that have taken place on the N2 Highway over the past two weeks.

MEC Plato said safety on the N2 has been a great concern for the provincial government and hopes that the justice system will ensure that those found guilty are convicted and sentenced.

Ministerial Spokesperson Ewald Botha said it is a well-deserved victory for everyone who has worked tirelessly to increase safety on these roads and this is a clear indicator that crime does not pay.
