National Sea Rescue
Institute in Strand rescued two people aged 14 and 21-years-old who were swept
out to sea on Sunday at Strand Beach.
NSRI Spokesperson Craig
Lambinon said the two were rescued by bystanders after being caught in a strong
rip current.
“On arrival on scene it was found that both males being rescued by bystanders.
The bystanders used surf
boards to go to the two male’s assistance and managed to bring them to shore safely.
Both patients were transported to hospital as a precaution measure for
treatment of Hypothermia and for observation second drowning." Lambinon
added.
