The National Council of Provinces in Gauteng embarked on a visit to different areas in Sedibeng to assess the state of service delivery.

The visit is part of the NCOP’s Provincial Week where different areas are being visited to check on service delivery for communities.

The delegation will now compile a report which will be debated in the NCOP and Gauteng Provincial Legislature.

NCOP’s Gauteng delegation Tasneem Motara said what we found during our visit was a general problem of decaying infrastructure especially in the hospital and police station, because Sedibeng is a very old municipality.

“Also what we found were challenges relating to crime which is a nationwide problem, but we have committed to continuously engaging with the community to try and address some of the issues relating to crime” Motara added.
