COPE calling for the removal of Minister of State Security

Lusanda Bill
20 February 2015

The Congress of the People has called for the resignation of Minister of State Security David Mahlobo. This follows the installation of a device that disrupted the signal at the State of the Nation Address last week Thursday.

Cope’s Dennis Bloem said they will not accept the minister explanation that it was an operational error that the device was installed.

Bloem said the jamming of the signal was attacking the most fundamental privilege guaranteed in our Constitution.

“This thing was well planned and now he is trying to blame it on human error. It is unacceptable and we are calling on him to voluntarily resign or if he refuses to resign the President must fire him immediately” Bloem added.
