A 42-year-old man was rescued off a fishing boat after he suffered a stroke while onboard at St Francis Bay.

The National Sea Rescue Institute St Francis Bay duty crew launched the sea rescue craft.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said his crew members raised the alarm and reported that one of the crew members suffered a stroke.

Lambinon added that on arrival of scene the patient was transferred onto our sea rescue craft and brought to shore, where a private ambulance from Private Care ambulance service took him to hospital in stable condition for further treatment.
