Death toll for the month of January 2015 stands at 76 in WC

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said the road deaths in the province for the month of January have decreased since 2009. 

From January 01st to the 31st 2015, 76 deaths were recorded on the province roads compared to 2009 were the death toll was 147 for the month of January. 

Africa said in 2010 there were 117 deaths in the month of January then in 2011 it decreased to 109.

“In 2012 the road death figure for the month of January came down again to 104 and in 2013 down to 80 and in 2014 the figure increased slightly to 91 and now 2015 it decreased again to 76” Africa added.
