An accident in the early hours of this morning in Vereeniging left two people dead.

This is after the car they were travelling in lost control and drove into a storm drain of about 3 meters and caught alight.

ER24 Spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said when ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene they saw that the car caught fire and the two occupants in the car were entrapped.

Rossouw said the occupants tragically sustained fatal injuries.

Meanwhile in another accident late yesterday a man died after the car he was travelling in rolled just before Kuruman.

ER24 Spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said when paramedics arrived on the scene they found the man 10-15km away from the wrecked vehicle.

Bodasing said he had sustained multiple injuries and unfortunately he had already succumbed to his injuries.

The exact details to the cause of both accidents will remain the subject of a police investigation.
