A body of a teenager recovered in Klein Brak River

Southern Cape police believe that the body that was recovered on the banks of Klein Brak River near Mossel Bay is that of missing 15-year-old Bonique Jansen.

She went missing last week after she was last seen by her father when she went to visit him.

Southern Cape Police Captain Malcolm Pojie said the clothing on the body that was recovered resemblance that of what Jansen was wearing when she went missing.

Captain Pojie said however at this stage we cannot confirm that it is Jansen as a positive identification has not been done yet however an autopsy will be conducted later this week to determine possible cause of death.  

Pojie added that in the meantime, a case of murder was opened for further investigation.
