An accident this morning left five people injured after a bakkie and truck collided at the R501 and R559 intersection outside Carletonville.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on scene and found both the truck and bakkie parked on the side of the road. The front right of the bakkie had sustained a large amount of damage in the collision.

Meiring added that on assessment, paramedics found that 5 occupants that had been travelling in the back of the vehicle had sustained minor to moderate injuries. Fortunately no-one had sustained any injuries in the collision.

“Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Carletonville Hospital for further medical treatment.” Meiring said.

Exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
