Public Transport Voice opposed to annual price hike

The Public Transport Voice said it is opposed to the annual price hike that will come into effect for Metrorail as from the 1st of July.

Metrorail’s Richard Walker said the yearly price hike is due to inflation and they are in the process to talk to the relevant parties.

PTV’s Zingisani Nkanjeni said the price will mostly affect the poor and the marginalised.

Nkanjeni added that we believe that as much as we find ourselves speaking in programs of poor infrastructure, we calling the national department of transport.


“Metro-rail and PRASA to find other ways to sustain their budget and we also calling the improvements of trains, train stations, time management issues of safety and security, reliable, reliability we believe if they can solves this issue some of the problems we find ourselves seating with we be solved," Nkanjeni added.
