Several accidents left three dead on KZN roads

Three people have died and several injured in various accidents in the Durban area.

Emergency Medical Services Spokesperson Robert McKenzie said in one incident, a man was killed when his vehicle overturned on the N2 near the Umngeni offramp on Friday nigh.

McKenzie added that another person was killed in an accident on the R34 towards Blood River in the early hours of this morning.

"In Newcastle, one person was killed and four others were injured when two vehicles collided," McKenzie added.

In another in incident, a young man was hit by a car on the N2 near the M25 highway at around midnight.

He also said that the patients were stabilised before being transported to hospital for medical care.

Exact details to the cause of these accidents will remain the subject of a police investigation.  


He urged motorists to be extremely cautious on the roads as it is holiday times and there’s an increase in traffic volume.
