Today Western Cape MEC of Community Safety, Dan Plato, together with officials from the Department of Community Safety, will engage with the youth, and those working with youth, in Bredasdrop.

This falls as part of the Safety Outreach engagements.

Spokesperson for MEC Plato, Ewald Botha said the outreach will focus on the various organisations that work with youth, the youth themselves as well as parents, to show what alternative solutions and options are available to youth who would to further their studies or partake in some of the programmes that are on offer from the department.

Botha added that some of these include the Chrysalis Academy, the partnership with Northlink College for bursary applications as well as the Youth Safety and Religious Partnership programme, where the department works with religious organisations in the province and provides holiday programmes for youth during the school holidays.
