SADTU calls on education dept to pay salaries of temporary teachers

The South African Democratic Teachers Union in the North West has announced plans to launch a strike over the non-payment of salaries of temporary teachers if Provincial Education Department does not pay these teachers. 

SADTU’s Provincial Secretary Keoagile Kale said more than 100 of temporary teachers have not received their salaries in the province some since the beginning of the year while other get half of their wages.

We are still having educators who were subjected with very lengthy periods of services rendering to the department of Education where in these educators are remaining unpaid.

“Some of them since the begging of the year up until today, we call on Department of Education to do morally and legally correct.” Kale added.
