Cape Town Mayor Patricia De Lille will visit one of the poorest areas in the city today as part of the Redress Project.

She is visiting a site in Macassar to see the progress of which R8 million has been allocated in this area for the project.

The Redress Project focuses on areas that previously received little or no help.

Spokesperson for the Executive Mayor, Zara Nicholson, said in line with our commitment to be a caring city, the Mayor’s Redress Project has allocated R20 million to some of the poorest areas in the city which previously experienced little to no investment.

Nicholson added that this funding will go towards various roads upgrades, recreation of pathways and cycle ways and other general road works in order to improve the surroundings of communities like Scottsdene, Walacedene, Elsies River, Delft, Belhar and Macassar.
