The Oudtshoorn municipality has experienced various challenges over the years including leadership, service delivery and financial struggles.

Western Cape MEC of Local Government, Environmental Affairs and Development Planning Anton Bredell said the continued political instability in the municipality has adversely impacted on the administration of it.

Ministerial Spokesperson James-Brent Styan said Minister Bredall and the Department have been involved in an ongoing legal action.

“At the moment we are still awaiting the finalisation of some legal issues before we can consider further action.” Styan added.
